In Tyresta it is forbidden to make fires outside the fixed firebreaks!

Here and in many other beautiful places in the national park, many people want to make their own fire. But in Tyresta it is never allowed to make a fire outside the fixed fire resting places. This also applies to portable grills and disposable grills. When making fires (when fires are allowed), take great care. Remember that the person making the fire is always responsible if something goes wrong, even if the guidelines are followed. Therefore, always be careful and make sure to extinguish the fire properly.

It is so easy for the fire to suddenly spread. The forest fire in Tyresta National Park, August 1999, is a horrific example, when about 450 hectares of forest were destroyed, which is about 10% of its total land area.

The campfire sites are marked on the map and are located at Bylsjön, Årsjön, Långsjön, Stensjön, Lanan, Stensjödal, Tyresta village (by the café) and along the Kustleden (Kokgrytan, Lillströms träsk and Styvnäset). In the northern parts of the reserve there are also campfire sites at Lillsjön and Tyresö-Flaten/Oppsättra.

During the summer months, there is often a fire ban in the forest and land, which includes the fireplaces set up by the Administrator. Therefore, keep an eye on this if you plan to make a fire.
