Beskrivelse
Risåsstugan is located quite high in the mountain birch forest, close to the tree line. It was set up by the Storsjö snowmobile club in 1993 and has become a popular destination where everyone is welcome. It is a sturdy log cabin with the main purpose of providing shelter in bad weather. In January 1992, two young people were killed in a snowstorm near where the cabin now stands.

The first half of the hike towards Skärkdalen is mostly high in the mountain birch forest. If you want to walk on a path, you can choose to start walking to Högrensvålvallen on the north side of Högrensvålen. There, a path continues west to Särvvålvallen, which is down in the coniferous forest. From here you have to continue in untracked terrain through Skärkdalens coniferous forest.

Rutevejledning
Approach from the road along the south side of Storsjön in the north. Along the snowmobile trail, it is 6 km from the road to Risåsstugan. It is also possible to choose the trail to Risåsstugan, which departs from Julius a few km further east along the road.
