37. Ljungdalen - Västsätern (lätt)

Whether you want to hike high on the trail or further down in the coniferous forest, you can start your hike along the JämtNorge road that departs from the campsite in the eastern part of the village of Ljungdalen. Here you have the chance to look at old-growth forest with very high natural values, a bit up the slope where the JämtNorge road runs parallel to Stampbäcken.

If you choose to hike higher up, follow the JämtNorge road towards Husvålstugan. At the forest boundary and the foot of Husvålen, the summer trail heads east over the bare mountain past Orrknipptjärnarna. You reach Västsätern in a forest landscape.

If you want to walk through forests with known high natural values, you should round the southern slope of Kattuggleknallen at about 700 meters altitude. You will then pass through old forest with very high natural values on the southwest and southeast slopes of the mountain. Then continue east towards Västsätern.
