Beskrivelse
Here you will find old-growth spruce forest. Despite human activity in the area, the forest has the character of a primeval forest, that is, it looks original. The oldest trees can be found in the eastern part of the reserve, where there are spruces that are up to 200 years old. Near the mountain home Höberg, you can see that there is an unusual amount of birch and willow growing. The favorable southern location with mountains that protect against northerly winds and which collect the sun's heat, has allowed more southerly species to take hold. For example, a stand of elm has been found on the slope.

Rutevejledning
Take road 340 from Föllinge towards Hotagen. Turn off towards Rörvattnet and follow the gravel road, which eventually turns into a private road, to the trail terminal at Lake Lill-Kingen. From there, you have to walk about 4 kilometers along the path to Höberg before you arrive at the nature reserve. In 2020, an information sign will be set up at the Höberg mountain home.
Regler
Welcome to Höbergsfjället. Please note that within the reserve it is not allowed to:
- climbing trees or deliberately staying closer than 100 meters to a bird of prey's nest, lair or pot,
- damage the ground or vegetation, including dry trees and windfalls,
- drive a motorized vehicle.
Other rules apply if you want to conduct any kind of activity in the area, see the relevant reserve decision for full regulations. There may also be other laws to take into account, such as the Reindeer Husbandry Act.
