Beskrivelse
Among large spruces and aspens, you can find plants and fungi that like lime in the soil. The fertile soil allows the trees to grow large quickly. You can find spruces and aspens with impressive diameters.
Parts of the fertile slope have been used for pasture farming in the past. This is shown on maps from the 1870 Laga parcel. In the present day, you can't see any traces of the meadows. There are now well-grown spruces.
Below the mountain, on the eastern edge of the nature reserve, there is a long narrow marsh overgrown with spruces and birches. What makes you suspect that the marsh is also affected by lime is the presence of the large yellow orchid guckusko.

Rutevejledning
The directions start from Bräcke. Follow road 323 towards Kälarne and Hammarstrand 22.5 kilometers. Turn left in Nyhem towards Östbyn. Follow the new road for 15.5 kilometers and then turn left. Then drive about 3 kilometers until you reach a junction. Follow the worse forest road on foot for about 450 meters, then you are at the entrance to the nature reserve.
Regler
Welcome to Falkberget. Keep in mind that in the reserve it is not allowed to:
- pick and collect species of any kind, with the exception of berries and edible mushrooms,
- climbing trees, staying near a bird of prey's nest, lair or pot, collecting animals or otherwise deliberately damaging or disturbing wildlife,
- damaging the ground, boulders, vegetation, dry trees or other dead wood
- make a fire, other than with firewood brought in.
Without the permission of the County Administrative Board, it is forbidden to:
- carry out or conduct organized outdoor activities, competitions, camp activities, military exercises or other organized events.
Other rules apply if you want to conduct any kind of activity in the area, see the current reserve decision for full regulations. There may also be other laws to take into account, such as the Reindeer Husbandry Act.
