Tandådalens Fjällkyrka

Church and coffee shop in the same building.

The origins of the church go back to the services celebrated at Easter time outdoors at the Caravan Club. At Easter 1968, Lima priest Halfdan Rönneseth took the initiative to build a church. By 1983, 150,000 SEK had been raised. The new Lima priest Birger Lidström continued the building plans and contacted Börje Holgersson in Tandådalen. Together they built the church. On September 1, 1985, the church was consecrated by Bishop Arne Palmquist.

The church is inspired by the shape of the Lapland hut, and measures 12 x 12 meters at ground level. It is also 12 meters high, and can accommodate 150 people. The timber for the church was sourced from 200 fine pines from Lima Besparingsskog. The altar is made by Pell Olle Eriksson. The carved cross is made by Bengt Lidström. The bell weighs 300 kg, is cast by Bergholtz in Sigtuna and has the inscription: "Your sound may ring over valley and mountain, and to the glory of God carry the message. About Christ who wants to reconcile everything, and bring peace and peace to the earth down."
