Experience Blekinge's coast as the birds see it...

In the extreme southeast of the Karlskrona archipelago lies the rather large and flat island of Utlängan. The island is largely characterized by grazing animals and has been an agricultural island. The village can be said to be a terraced village and each farm has had farmland down towards the sea in the east. Today, there is only one year-round resident of Utlängan, in summer the village comes alive, as does Stenshamn, which is a small island connected by a causeway to Utlängan. Stenshamn has been an important fishing port, but today the port mostly serves recreational boats. Utlängan has something to offer the bird watcher almost all year round.

The film is commented in Swedish, but there is also the option to add English subtitles in the menu.

This film is part of a series of drone films that the organisation Blekinge Archipelago produced to increase knowledge about the connection between the natural and cultural environments in the Biosphere Reserve. Through these films, it is possible to experience a number of known and unknown areas along Blekinge's coast - in the way that perhaps a sea eagle sees the coast. In the films, we mix information and images concerning both culture and nature.

These films can be used in several different ways, for example to be inspired to further journeys within the Biosphere area at home in the warmth of the cabin. But also during a hike or kayaking, you can get a wider overview of the area you are in directly via the ARK56 app.
