Köpmannagården is a typical example of a nineteenth-century building in the market town of Kristianopel.
The house and shop were probably built in the 1850s, but it is not impossible that they date back to the eighteenth century.
Entering the shop is like stepping half a century back in time. Most of the interior dates from modernisation in 1945-46. Very few changes have been made since then, although the chiller counter is from the 1960s.
Köpmannagården was listed under the Swedish Cultural Heritage Act in 2003.
