Vita Huset is located by Lake Stora Le with a vast view. The main building has been renovated with care and furnished with beautiful second-hand furniture for a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The surrounding garden, full of flowers and fruit trees, slopes down to the dock that invites you to a morning or evening swim in the lake.
All rooms are practically and personally decorated, spacious and comfortable. Several rooms also offer a fantastic lake view. In the rooms, you can prepare simple meals as each room has its own kitchenette. There is also the possibility to borrow a grill.
In the dining room, which is decorated in a traditional Swedish style, a lovely breakfast buffet is served every morning. The bread is homemade, the granola is roasted on-site, and the smoothie of the day is blended according to the season. Locally sourced products are used as much as possible, and guests dine on "grandma's china," which gives a delightful sense of bygone days.
In the surrounding area, you will find scenic hiking and cycling paths. Tresticklan National Park is only ten kilometers from Vita Huset and is known for its many lakes, ancient old-growth forest, and a diversity of animal and plant life.
Lake Stora Le is one of Dalsland's most attractive canoe waters and part of the Dalsland Canal lake system with its many bays and islands. Perfect for those who want to go on a paddling trip! Canoes are available for rent on site.
Many small lakes in the area also offer good fishing opportunities. Don't miss a trip to the cozy Norwegian town of Halden with Fredriksten Fortress. The Straw House in Bengtsfors and Dalsland Moose Ranch in Ed, as well as having a coffee at local cafés, are other popular destinations.

Vita Huset vid Stora Le is in Nössemark, located in the municipality of Dals-Ed, nestled deep within the forests of Dalsland. The nearest urban centers are Ed, Bengtsfors, and the Norwegian town of Halden, all of which are approximately 30 kilometers away. If you are approaching from the east, you will need to take the Sund-Jaren ferry across Stora Le. The timetable for the Sund-Jaren route can be found on the Swedish Transport Administration's website. Vita Huset is located about 300 meters north of the local store in the center of Nössemark. It takes approximately 2.5 hours by car from Gothenburg and about six hours from Stockholm. Free parking is available directly adjacent to the accommodation.
The nearest train station is in Ed, with several train stops per day on the Gothenburg-Oslo line. From Ed's railway/bus station, you can take a taxi to Vita Huset or use Västtrafik's service "Närtrafik". Närtrafik is a public transport service between the countryside and urban areas where there are no regular bus lines. The fee is heavily subsidized and corresponds to the price of a bus ticket.
If you are traveling along the Dalsland Canal with your own boat, you can easily make a stop at Vita Huset, which is located by Lake Stora Le. For those coming by bike or hiking, the 360-kilometer-long Dalsland Trail passes just outside the accommodation.
