Östra Elfvik

Elfvik's farm is Lidingö's only farm lease with a living agriculture and grazing animals. The landscape is otherwise varied with forests, open landscapes, farm buildings and several course farms along the water.

Elfvik farm has a long history and is open to visitors. There are horses, sheep, goats, linderöd pigs and chickens here, and grassland is mown, harvested and turned into hay. You can stroll in a beautiful English park, orchard with beehives and old named fruit tree varieties. You can pick fruit in the garden. The manor park is open to the public and dates back to the 18th century. It includes a grassy lawn, a slope facing the sea with a fine view, tall park trees and a small boxwood parterre. Another popular spot is the cowslip meadow at Fiskarudden.

At the temple in the old pine forest on Elfvik's headland there is a nice viewpoint, several barbecue areas and a small sandy beach nearby.

In addition to the cultivated agricultural landscape, there are good blueberry forests and key biotopes with old pines. The area is also popular with mushroom pickers.

Lidingö's fallow deer are often seen at Elfvik, they were planted in the late 1940s and the population is being renewed in 2019.

The city owns almost all the land along the water, with the exception of some private plots. Public access rights apply on city land. Along Höggarnsfjärden and through meadows and forests there are nice walking paths. Following the coastline to the south, there are also several course farms with award-winning modern architecture.

In 1788, Carl Michael Bellman wrote the Lidingö song for the Widman couple at Elvfik's farm. It has become Lidingö residents' own hometown song.
