On August 1, 1999, a forest burned in the marshes. Now it is sprouting in the ashes. You can still see where the 1999 fire raged. Look for the grayed tree skeletons, they were swept away. Lush greenery with young pines and birches took root afterwards. Forest fires destroy great economic value and are dangerous for people and animals. But the fireweed and the blackthorn need fires. Their seeds can lie in the ground for hundreds of years, waiting for the fire to bring them back to life. This fire shows how important it is to be careful in forests and fields. A spark or small fire can easily become something much bigger!
