Konstverk Paus

‘Paus’ (Pause) shows
a figure in quiet reflection sitting on a wheel suspended in motion. The wheel
is seen as a symbol of the work that once took place at Värnamo Gummifabrik. It
has now stopped, changing in the direction of a new business that has now
started. ‘Paus’ also encourages us to stop and reflect, rather than just rushing
onwards.

Artist Kajsa Mattas
has received numerous awards and grants and has carried out many public
commissions. Her art is characterised by a subdued design language, but it is
at the same time precise in its details: nothing is left to chance. Movement is
often only hinted at and figures are characterised by a sense of calm, as
though in a moment of respite. ‘Paus’ is a sculpture in bronze and granite; it
was purchased by the Municipality of Värnamo in 2013.
