Stora Hotellet

The house was built after the town fire in 1754 as Ekengrens. In the early 1900s, Oskar Bernhard Åkerblom started a bakery, confectionery, guesthouse and later a hotel in the house. The business was run by the same owner until the 1940s. Hotell Åkerblom was renamed Gustav Vasa Hotell, later Stora hotellet, Loftet and Mickes, but was popularly known as Krossen. Since 2008 the building has housed apartments and various businesses. The exterior of the building has retained much of its old style.
