Here you will find a landscape that is one of the most magnificent in southern Dalarna. The reserve consists of a part of Badelundaåsen, which is a pebble ridge stretching from Siljan and south through the county.
The ridge here has a sharply marked ridge that reaches a height of 35 meters above the level of the adjacent Dalälven. The landscape is one of the most varied and magnificent in south-eastern Dalarna. The pebble ridge along the southern side of the Dalälven makes a significant contribution to the character of the landscape.
The purpose of the reserve decision is to protect an area from gravel extraction activities, which would otherwise cause irreparable damage to a very valuable landscape.
