Vandring i Florarna

When: September 30 at 9:30 a.m.

Where: Florarna Nature Reserve; meet at the ST1 gas station in Älvkarleby to carpool in your own vehicles

Train: For those arriving on the Upptåget or without a car, there is an option to be picked up at Skutskär Station. Please register for this by Friday, September 28, at the latest. Spots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. A 10-kilometer hike in Uppsala County’s largest nature reserve is a true wilderness experience. The landscape is dominated by dense, old-growth forests alternating with open marshes and dark forest lakes. The silence is broken only by the trumpeting of cranes and whooper swans. On the Upplandsleden loop, you’ll walk across the marshes on sturdy boardwalks—including the 500-meter-long Kungaspången—and along well-marked trails. At the old Risön farm, there’s a small, open cabin. This is a full-day excursion, so bring a packed lunch for two breaks.
