Ättekulla

Ättekulla Forest Nature Reserve is a varied recreational area in southern Helsingborg. Here you can experience lush forest areas, open meadows and rolling pastures.

You can roam freely or explore the area on roads, paths and a specially accessible loop. There are several barbecue areas that you can use.

Landborgen has a height difference of 30 meters within the area, which gives you beautiful views of Öresund and southern Helsingborg. Skåneleden and Landborgspromenaden pass on the outskirts.

In this, Helsingborg's most ancient site-dense area, there are many remains from the Stone Age onwards. The most visible traces are all burial mounds from the Bronze and Iron Ages. A mill ruin in the northeast is said to date from the 1880s.

In Ättekulla there is a mixed forest of oak and beech, with elements of alder, birch and pine. You can see wood anemones, squirrelberry and lily of the valley. In swampy parts of the forest, you can see the wood orchid, an orchid with purple-green flowers. In spring you can hear the songs of several of the thirty or so nesting birds, such as the green warbler and nightingale. If you want to see toads, field frogs and common frogs, keep an eye out in the water collection west of the colony area.
