Kvarnbäckens naturområde

Kvarnbäcken flows through the residential area in northern Jordbro, before joining Husbyån further south and flowing into Årsta Castle. At Kvarntäppan's farm, the stream has formed a beautiful winding ravine with rich vegetation. It's a small oasis with unusual species such as thistle, ostrich fern, goldenrod, brook rush and the orchid coral root. Further north, near Kvarnbäcksskolan, the rare lesser celandine grows and the stream is bordered by the northern gray alder. Sea trout sometimes make their way up the river to spawn, and in winter, the common tern is occasionally seen along the stream. Between Kvarnbäcksskolan and Höglundaskolan a path leads along Kvarnbäcken.
