Tofta, Naturreservat

Out at Tofta there is a bit of everything with the sea right next door; from bare cliffs with heather, to flowering meadows and forest.

Sit down at one of the benches, or take a cliffside seat and enjoy the view. Perhaps the sea beckons for a cooling dip.

There are two circular trails that provide a little of everything that Tofta has to offer. The red trail is just over 2 km long. From it, a white-marked path leads to one of the finest viewpoints in the area. There is a bench table with a wide view of the sea. Blue trail is 2.8 km long. It extends partly outside the reserve, on a bridleway. Good to know is that the bridleway can be very muddy in wet weather. It can also be slippery on the rocks.

The Tofta peninsula is known for its bird life, which is most intense during migratory bird times (spring and fall). Different types of geese roost in the area, and the forest is also lively. Cuckoos and various other small birds hang out in the brows.

The meadows bloom abundantly in spring and early summer and are tended by grazing animals. There are also a lot of flowers out among the rocks. The heather is the most abundant flower there. In late summer there is a real color explosion of pink-purple tones against the gray rocks!

Near the reserve is the culturally and historically interesting Tofta Manor, which has a variety of activities.
