Närmstberget

Old pine-dominated mixed coniferous forest grows on the slopes of Närmstberget. As you walk around the nature reserve, you will see many old fire stumps.

There are no facilities for outdoor life in the nature reserve. As a visitor, you wander freely under the canopy. You may pass a large stump, some over 70 cm in diameter. This is what the forest looked like in the area before the early dimensional felling in the 1930s.

Sit with your back against one of the large boulders on the steep slopes of Närmstberget and take out your coffee. Look out over the forest landscape and listen to all the sounds of the forest. The stream to the east can be difficult to cross during the high spring floods.
