Beskrivelse
Lillö is a very small nature reserve that has been established to protect a number of giant ash trees that grow next to Västra Ringsjön. Access to the reserve is prohibited all year round.
Lillö Nature Reserve is located on a headland in Lake Västra Ringsjön and protects the special species of giant aspen - a large-growing form of aspen discovered in 1935. Despite the name, these are not of any impressive size, but their leaves are significantly larger than those of the common aspen. Oak, lime, birch, beech and alder also grow here. The reserve and the surrounding area are home to a large number of wood-boring beetles, including several rare and endangered species.
