Beskrivelse
Do you want to experience a remnant of the cultural landscape that used to dominate central Skåne? Then you should visit Hunnabacken near the small village of Elestorp on Linderödsåsen. Hunnabacken is a grazed meadow with meadow flowers such as maidenhair fern, hogweed and bluebell. Sometimes red kites and green wrens are seen flying in the fields. Hunnabacken has no trails. Avoid dogs among grazing animals.
Old meadow field
Hunnabacken Nature Reserve consists mainly of fields of juniper. It is an ancient landscape that has been shaped by centuries of grazing. The word fälad comes from the Danish fælled, which is composed of the words fä and land area. Plants that are dependent on long-term grazing thrive in meadows.
Flora
The flora includes species such as haymaking, maidenhair, hogweed and bluebell. In wetter areas, the orchid Virgin Mary's keys, hop flowers, spruce spurge and meadow saxifrage grow.
Bird life
Hunnabacken also has a rich bird life with, among other things, greenfinch, shrike, black-and-white flycatcher, yellowhammer and red kite.
Outdoor life
Hunnabacken has no trails. Avoid dogs among grazing animals. Remember to take your rubbish home.
In English
Welcome to Hunnabacken Nature Reserves
Hunnabacken constitutes the remains of an old cultural landscape. Until the early 20th century, Linderödsåsen was an extensive open landscape with heath and pastures. The character of the ridge has changed slowly over time. Fields and forests have taken over, and the rough grazings have become rare jewels in the landscape.
Biological cultural heritage
Walk in the terrain and experience a living museum. Discover the history of the landscape by spotting differences between the various parts of the reserve.
Boulders and tussocks. Dry and wet.
The plow has never worked this land. It has been kept open by grazing. The occasional trees have offered shade and protection for the animals. The diversity of plants can only be found in rough grazings. The floral splendor, in turn, attracts butterflies and birds.
Green fields with fewer flowers and often surrounded by stone walls are interspersed in the pastureland. They remind us of hard work and toil. The stones were removed, the land was plowed and harvests were brought in. Today, this land is grazed, and plants such as harebell, leopard's bane and lousewort have been able to immigrate from the surrounding rough grazings.
