If you take a short detour, about 360 meters round trip, you will come to a well-preserved hut. On the way you pass a hollow way.

A hut is a simple little cottage built on open ground. The person who built and lived in the hut was called a hut-sitter and did not own the land the hut stood on. It could happen that the owner of the cottage had to lease the land around the cottage in order to get the right to keep animals. A hut could be owned by the landowner or by the hut owner.

In the 17th and 18th centuries, it was the very poorest and outcasts, the elderly and the sick who lived in the cottages. In the 1800s, it became increasingly common for wage earners to live in a cottage.
