Beskrivelse
Getabäcken consists of a steep valley side dominated by old beech forest. The northern part in particular is primeval forest with many stumps and fallen tree trunks. Small streams and springs run through the reserve, creating a favorable environment for many vascular plants.
By studying older maps, it can be seen that forest has existed along Getabäcken from at least the 17th century onwards. In more recent times, the forest has been completely untouched. This is also evidenced by the abundance of dead wood. This type of environment is home to many unusual forest species; species that place high demands on their surroundings. The old beech forest is home to many unusual lichens and mosses, such as red pyssling lichen, small noble lichen, pink lichen, pepper porella, shadow moss and beech feather moss.

Forskrifter
To protect the nature reserve, the County Administrative Board has decided on special regulations, including those that you as a visitor to the area must follow and respect.
In addition to what applies under other legislation, it is forbidden to:
- Damage living or dead standing or lying trees and shrubs and damage the vegetation in general, e.g. by digging up plants,
- driving a motorized vehicle on the terrain or parking other than in the designated place,
- marking trails, organizing orienteering or competitions that may disturb the natural environment.
