STF Närsholmen Fyr & Logi

STF Närsholmen Hostel is the perfect base for a seaside getaway. You can swim, stroll along sandy limestone beaches or go for picnics next to the scenic seafront. Närsholmen’s nature is unique and somewhat reminiscent of a savanna, because of the many juniper trees on long stems. The open landscapes are maintained by farm animals who have been grazing on these pastures for centuries. The splendor of wild flowers is unmatched and migratory birds stop and pass in masses during their respective times of year.

Check-in is between 5 pm and 6 pm. If you arrive later, you can call us in advance and we will arrange something else. Check-out is at 11 am.

We offer comfortable beds in twin rooms or quadruple rooms. The quadruple rooms have two single beds and a bunk bed, and the family room is ideal for relaxing or playing games. Outside your window, you will have a view of the sea or the meadows. There is a lighthouse keeper’s house (fyrvaktarhuset) where our spacious guest kitchen and living room can be found, facing the iconic lighthouse. The kitchen has a dining area and offers everything you need for a self-catering holiday.

The standard is simple. The shower and toilet are located in the small house next to the lighthouse. There are also two outdoor toilets.

Limestone walls surround the entire lighthouse and many attractions await inside the walls, as well as in the nearby area. Visitors often consider Närsholmen one of the prettiest places in Gotland. Nature is all around and you can put your feet up and breathe easily. A traditional smokehouse, shop, bakery, restaurants, farmer’s stores and long sandy beaches are just a short drive or bike ride away.

Your hosts are called Gry and Martin. We have lived nearby for three years and adore the countryside. Närsholmen is our favorite place for excursions – both summer and winter. Just around the corner you can find beautiful sights, culinary experiences, the seaside and other adventures. We are always happy to guide you there.
