Beskrivelse
There is no marked trail to follow in the nature reserve, but you are welcome to explore the area on your own. The reserve is small but offers varied nature with different types of forest and a pasture. The pasture, lined with stately oaks, is beautifully situated by the water. However, be aware of the presence of animals in the pasture.
The central parts of the reserve can be difficult to navigate, as they consist of both swamp forest and spruce forest with many dead trees, both standing and lying. Along the water's edge grow old, coarse pines, and on the other side of the power line you will find a beautiful old coniferous forest with a mixture of pine and spruce.
The biological values of the nature reserve are mainly linked to the rich spruce forest. There is a great diversity of fungi, such as ground stars and thorn fungi. These terrestrial fungi are often closely associated with spruce through mycorrhiza. Many of the fungi are also red-listed.
The spruce forest in the reserve has been affected by the spruce bark beetle, which has led to the death of many spruces. This will change the appearance of the forest in the near future. It is likely that deciduous trees will take over for a period of time, which is a natural part of the forest's development process.

The nature reserve is located about 1.5 km southeast of Forssjö. From Forssjö, the reserve can be reached on foot via Sörmlandsleden, stage 27. Bus line 484 between Katrineholm and Grindtorp stops at the Spökbacken stop right next to the nature reserve. By car from Forssjö, drive towards Strångsjö and turn off towards Spökbacken. The reserve is then on the right. The nature reserve has no parking lot.
Forskrifter
I naturreservatet gäller särskilda regler för besökare.
Det är förbjudet att:
- bryta kvistar, fälla eller på annat sätt skada levande eller döda stående och omkullfallna träd och buskar,
- skada vegetation genom att gräva upp växter eller ta bort mossor, lavar eller vedlevande svampar. Bär-, matsvamp- och blomplockning för eget behov är dock tillåtet,
- sätta upp tavla, plakat, affisch, skylt eller göra inskrift,
- fånga och insamla ryggradslösa djur på ett sådant sätt att deras biotoper eller reproduktionsmiljöer skadas eller förstörs, eller så att den lokala populationen påverkas negativt,
- framföra motordrivet fordon i terrängen.
Det är förbjudet att utan Länsstyrelsens tillstånd:
- anordna lägerverksamhet,
- anordna tävlingar.
