Nyvallen - Nysätern

If you want to walk to Nysätern from Nyvallen, there are various possibilities. A nice hike starts just above the top of the two cabins you pass on the way up to the mountain from Nyvallen. Choose the path that turns right and follows the mountain slope westwards. Keep left where the path splits after a couple of kilometers. Eventually, the mountain birch forest becomes sparser and you come out on the dry mountain heath. Then just follow the path until you reach the trail that follows the western slope of Gråsidan down to Nysätern. You can also choose a slightly more strenuous option and go via Sododalen. Then you follow the trail south from Nyvallen towards Sododalen (a total of about 7 km). At the resting hut in Sododalen you then choose the path towards Nysätern (5 km) that goes up in the pass between Gråsidan and Valmfjället.
