Dunsjöravinen via Dorditjärn

Hiking to Dorditjärn and Dunsjöravinen requires some energy as it goes steeply uphill. The trail, which largely follows Finnbäcken, goes through forest and marshland up on the bare mountain. Keep an eye out for beautiful orchids.Halfway up towards Dorditjärn you pass "Dunsjön's old pine". Here you have a perfect place to take a break and enjoy the view.

Once at the pond, you can enjoy a beautiful mountain view before you either choose to go back or follow the path up the bare mountain to Dunsjöravinen with its snow cover.

A tip once you reach the gorge is to take a dip in the cold glacier stream at the beginning of the gorge.

An alternative route for the fast is to go up the slalom slope and then follow the summer trail northwest towards Dorditjärn.

The mountains are a cultural landscape and reindeer herding takes place in several places. Four samebys operate in Berg municipality. Visitor pressure in the mountains is increasing and with it the risk of impact on reindeer husbandry. As a visitor to the mountains, it is important that you show consideration and know how you should act where reindeer herding takes place.

Keep this in mind when you are in the mountains:

• Always leave the reindeer alone. If you come across reindeer, take a wide detour around or sit down quietly and wait for them to pass.
• Keep your dog on a leash where there are reindeer. A loose dog can cause great disturbance and harm to the reindeer and reindeer herding work.
• Follow marked trails.
• Avoid disturbing reindeer at snow camps, they stay there to protect themselves from heat and troublesome insects.
• Avoid camping in lush valleys.
• Cycle on roads and paths intended for cycling.
