Håslöv's meadows are the best place in Vattenriket to enjoy wading birds. In spring, curlews, snipe and lapwings play over the meadows.

Håslöv's meadows jut out like a large peninsula in Hammarsjön. The area is one of the country's largest and most valuable inland meadows. Wide views and an open landscape as far as the eye can see. In winter, the meadows are flooded by nutrient-rich lake water. Together with grazing and mowing, this provides an environment where wading birds thrive.

A birdwatcher's paradise

Håslöv meadows are a favorite among birdwatchers. The platform and bird tower provide great opportunities to follow the nesting birds. The meadows are a hive of activity when the chaffinch and meadow pipit decorate them. The tufted swift's chicks frolic in the grass and the curlew sings its lovely warblings.

The curlew is a true wetland ambassador. If you're lucky, you'll see it flying high above the meadows with its frantic flight and shrill calls. Skylarks soar high in the sky and yellow wagtails light up the fence posts. Spoonbills, teals, dabbling ducks and oystercatchers lie in the water's edge. Ospreys ride across the lake in search of fish.

Although spring is the high point, Håslöv's meadows provide fine nature experiences all year round. The early summer floral splendor with cuckoo flowers, hay rattle and daisies is worth a visit. In the fall, migratory birds rest and in winter geese, ducks and sea eagles are regular guests.

Accessibility

At normal water level, it is possible to get to the platform by wheelchair, which has been made accessible to the disabled with a ramp. It is located in the middle of the meadows with a good view of the fields. There are disabled spaces in the parking lot. The road to the bird platform is graveled.
