Beskrivelse

Ideboås' nature reserve is about 20 hectares big and is located northeast of Älghult. Take a stroll through the shady forest, listen to the rippling stream, and watch the Gray wagtail jump between the rocks. in Ideboås valley can you also find Sweden’s rarest pine tree - the european yew (Taxus baccata). Most parts of the tree are poisonous, so people used to remove them from the animal’s pastures and the meadows. The tree can grow very old, the oldest ones in Europe is around 2500-3000 years old.

The nature reserve’s meadows and pastures are famous for its big diversity of flowers and insects. If you’re very lucky you might find the rare field gentian (Gentianella__campestris). The flower is endangered and protected so it is forbidden to pick it!

If you visit the reserve in the late summer or early autumn, you can find a lot of different types of mushrooms!
