Beskrivelse
A clearly limestone-influenced spruce forest where the terrain consists of hills with damp patches in between. In the wetter areas you will find many fine herbs with a clear connection to lime, including fine bracken, wiregrass, witch hazel, wreathwort and guckusko. The old forest is now dominated by spruce, but there are still old pines, and the deciduous elements of willow, rowan, birch and aspen are evident. Willow in particular is abundant in the area and can reach trunk diameters of 75 centimeters. On the deciduous trees you can find rare lichens such as pink shield lichen and hull lichen, but also more common ones such as lung lichen and coral lead lichen.

Veibeskrivelse
The turn-off to Ringsta is on the E45 between Lit and Häggenås. After 3.7 kilometers along this road, turn left onto a forest road, follow the road and keep right all the time. After 1.2 kilometers, before crossing the river Gällsån, Byomsliden is on the left of the road.
Forskrifter
Welcome to Byomsliden. Please note that within the reserve it is not allowed to:
- pick and collect species of various kinds, with the exception of berries and edible mushrooms,
- climbing trees, staying near a bird of prey's nest, lair or pot, collecting animals or otherwise deliberately damaging or disturbing wildlife,
- damaging the ground, boulders, vegetation, dry trees or other dead wood
- drive a motorized vehicle.
Other rules apply if you want to conduct any kind of activity in the area, see the relevant reserve decision for full regulations. There may also be other laws to take into account, such as the Reindeer Husbandry Act.
