Smöret

Smöret is located about half a kilometer southeast of the eastern tip of Lake Ryssjön. It rises above the forest like a forty-meter-high sugarloaf. It is very steep almost all around, only from the eastern side the slope is slightly less, where the old path has also gone up.

But from the other sides the slope is very steep. Experts say that the slope of the steep sides has been determined by the natural angle of repose. Adjacent to Smöret there is also a field of pebbles, which are pitted and crumbly, sometimes blocky.

There are flat ridges with dead ice pits, sometimes like goat ridges, and to the south there is a blocky moraine ridge called radial moraine in the literature.

The Smöret area is unique for the county and very rich in forms. It primarily consists of glacial river deposits, but today's appearance has been shaped by glacial river erosion.
