Beskrivelse
The nature reserve consists of two areas. The larger area in the west is very difficult to access. There are steep slopes with a height difference of 150 meters. Dense mixed coniferous forest grows on the slopes. But where the mountain is exposed, pine and deciduous trees grow. There are several really old oaks and lots of dead wood. Since the terrain is difficult to access, the forest can almost be compared to primeval forest. The eastern part of the reserve is slightly smaller and not quite as hilly. Here, deciduous trees, pine and spruce grow. Many trees are old and late-growing. There are traces of a previously grazed landscape. Säbybranten also has stream ravines and springs where the humidity is constantly high.

Forskrifter
The right of public access does not fully apply in the nature reserve. In the nature reserve it is forbidden for the public to:
- destroy or damage fixed natural objects or whole or parts of dead trees or bushes
- picking or collecting mosses, lichens or fungi, with the exception of edible mushrooms for domestic use
- collecting invertebrates by means of traps
- erecting a board, sign, inscription, poster or similar device
