Beskrivelse
Öxared is a valuable broadleaf forest. It is a beech forest with many old trees, trees of different ages and plenty of dead wood. The area is home to many red-listed species. There are no marked trails, but the forest is sparse and easy to walk in.
The forest is classified as a key biotope. Key biotopes are unique forest areas that are considered to be of particular importance for forest animals and plants. There are many lichens, mosses and fungi on the tree trunks. Flat feather moss is found on a large number of trees and there are also red-listed species such as beech spring lichen and short-shafted parasitic spike.

Veibeskrivelse
Öxared is located in Kungsbacka municipality. Directions: From the E6 take exit 58 towards Åsa/Fjärås. Drive onto Tostaredsvägen. After 9 km the reserve is on the left side of the road. There is no parking lot, you are responsible for ensuring that your car is not in the way or parked inappropriately. Public transportation: Bus stop "Öxared Östra"
Forskrifter
To protect the nature reserve, the County Administrative Board has decided on special regulations, including those that you as a visitor to the area must follow and respect.
In addition to what applies under other legislation, it is forbidden to:
- ride a bicycle,
- drive a motorized vehicle
- camping for more than two days,
- set up a caravan or motorhome in the reserve between 22-06,
- having a boat moored in the area between 22:00 and 06:00
- damage living or dead standing or lying trees and bushes,
- use traps intended for invertebrates without the permission of the County Administrative Board,
- planting plant or animal species alien to the area,
- put up a board, poster, sign or make an inscription,
- organize camps or competitions without the permission of the County Administrative Board, and
- without the permission of the County Administrative Board, conduct scientific studies that contravene the regulations.
