Location: Facade decoration Storgatan 30

On the facade of a house at Storgatan 30, a clock is depicted with a blue background that clearly stands out against the red backdrop of the house. The square bell is surrounded by three figures that seem to support it; there are two longer/larger figures along the long sides and a much smaller figure in the middle. The people/figures seem united in their mission to carry the clock. The proximity of the bodies to each other leads one to suspect that the figures may have a relationship beyond that mission; perhaps we are looking at a family or sibling group?

The design was commissioned by the temperance organization NTO in 1951.

The work is by the artist Manne Östlund, born in Österfärnebo and during his lifetime active mainly in Gävleborg County. Östlund was responsible for a large number of public works of art in Gävleborg, including Storvik's courthouse, the former savings bank building on Odengatan in Sandviken and Forsbacka burial chapel.
