Komosse, Naturreservat

Komosse is one of southern Sweden's largest contiguous mire areas and one of Europe's highest raised bogs. The area is not only one of the largest of its kind, but also one of the finest.

When you walk the Björnöleden trail in Komosse, you will experience an unusual desolation and open spaces. Take the opportunity to sit down at one of the many benches out on the bog and soak up the atmosphere. Along the trail there are several signs about nature and the cultural history of the area.

The Björnöleden trail takes you on a circular loop that is just over 4 km long, mostly on footbridge. About 300 m of the footbridge is widened and has anti-slip protection for visitors with prams or wheelchairs. It leads to a platform with a fire pit and several accessible benches. The benches and tables are built with the possibility to roll forward under the table top in the middle. Out on Lilla Björnö there is a shelter and several fireplaces.

If you're lucky on a hot summer day, you might see the macaon butterfly gliding by. This butterfly is one of Sweden's largest and most beautiful.
