What is the right of public access?

Most of all, it is an opportunity to enjoy the values that nature provides. It is freedom with responsibility. Remember to show consideration for the environment and other people's property. In short: do not disturb - do not destroy.

The right of public access also applies on water and the same consideration must be shown to residents as on land.

Disembarkation

It is permitted to go ashore, swim and temporarily stay at a beach that does not belong to the property or is protected by special legislation.

Camping

Camping for a single day at a reasonable distance from houses is part of the right of public access.

Firing

Gravel or sandy ground is a good surface. Moss, peat or woodland is less good. Never burn directly on rocks. They will crack and leave ugly wounds that will never heal. You must also not cut down trees or bushes, take brushwood or otherwise damage living trees.

Fire bans

The county council or the emergency services can issue a fire ban. This means that all open fires are prohibited, even in a prepared fireplace.

Dog

Dog owners have so-called strict liability for their dogs and can be held liable for damage caused by dogs.
