Användare av Naturkartans app för Android rapporterar i sommar att appen är seg mm. Vi rekommenderar att man raderar appen helt från sin telefon i så fall och laddar ned igen! Då skall den fungera bättre. Den befintliga appen skall ersättas av en ny app efter sommaren. Den gamla appen laddar all data för hela landet lokalt i appen (för att klara offline-läge) men det innebär att den blir för stor för vissa telefoner - då behöver den raderas och laddas ned igen!

Matkroksmossen is an area characterized by silence, stillness and unspoiled nature. There is swamp forest and marshland here, but also valuable beech forest and planted spruce. As a visitor, it is best that you stay in the northern part of the reserve, other parts are difficult to reach due to dense vegetation and wet land.

In the northern part of the reserve there are many exciting things to discover. In a valley lies a strange rock formation called Tomtehall. In the past, it was said that Santa lived in the mountain. The place is also called "Snapphanegrytan" and consists of a vertical cliff, 7 meters high and about 30 meters long. Snapphanes are said to have lived here. Although the story of the Snapphanegrytan can only be told in legends, it is not difficult to imagine a snapphane lurking behind a tree or a rock.

Forskrifter

To protect the nature reserve, the County Administrative Board has decided on special regulations, including those that you as a visitor to the area must follow and respect.

In addition to what applies under other legislation, it is forbidden to:

  • damage living or dead standing or lying trees and bushes,
  • damage, pick or collect grasses, herbs, mosses or lichens, although picking berries or edible mushrooms is permitted,
  • make fires
  • planting plant or animal species alien to the area
  • camping or staying overnight in a caravan or motorhome for more than 24 hours
  • put up a picture, poster, sign or make an inscription
  • drive a motorized vehicle other than on a road or park other than in a designated place, the prohibition does not apply to hunting rights holders when transporting fallen game,
  • ride a bicycle other than on an existing road,
  • breaking, knocking down, removing or painting stones and minerals,
  • engage in climbing with permanent or damaging securing devices (e.g. drilling bolts) or by removing vegetation from the cliff
  • bring an unleashed dog with the exception of hunting with dogs or for searching,
  • collect insects, spiders, shells and other invertebrates without the permission of the County Administrative Board, and
  • organize camp activities or competitions without the permission of the County Administrative Board.
