Lotsutkiken på Idö

**The old pilot lookout on Idö has been preserved and is almost completely untouched since it was

**was decommissioned in February 1986.

Up on the roof you can see several miles across land and sea. On a clear day you can see the northern tip of Öland.

Here you can make an excursion and feel the wings of history. Piloting was a risky profession and history

tells of the governor Oluf on Krokö who moved to Idö in 1601 and there the new pilot station was

established. Idö's pilotage history goes back to the time of Gustav Vasa.
