Beskrivelse

You can only paddle to the island of Vitgrund if the weather forecast is good and stable. Pull-up boards are good to have because of the rocky bottom.

Here you will find Gävle Bay's largest population of white birds (gulls). On the southeast side of the island there are remains of Gävle Bay's largest fishing village.

Please note that the islands are part of the Vitgrund-Norrskär nature reserve with special regulations.

Forskrifter

Special regulations apply within the nature reserve and you can find all the information on the County Administrative Board's website Vitgrund-Norrskär. Among other things, this applies:

  • During the period April 1 - July 31 you are not allowed to enter the marked bird protection area on the eastern part of the island.
  • You may not break branches or otherwise damage living or dead trees and bushes.
  • Fires are only allowed in the specially designated area with firewood.
