In the summer of 2026, cows will graze on Isalanäset. The aim is to try to prevent further overgrowth of the still open land on the isthmus. The meadow flora that still remains in the area will also benefit from grazing.

**You are welcome to visit the area even when the animals are grazing here. The area is large and you may not see them. The animals are normally calm but can be curious.

**Show respect to the animals. Do not follow them if they walk away, they want to be left alone.

Beskrivelse

On Isalanäset there is a marked circular trail and a couple of short detours down to Svärdsjön. From the parking lot to Rastladan on the west side of the isthmus, there is a gravel path that is suitable for strollers. Otherwise, the paths consist of ordinary forest paths. If you go around the loop and out to Rastladan, the walk is about 2.5 kilometers.

Isalanäset is a municipal nature reserve and is managed by Falu municipality.

Take bus 235, 237 or 238 to Isala. The stop is about 50 meters from the reserve parking.

Drive road 850 north from Svärdsjö. Pass the church and the homestead and then turn right towards Svartnäs. After about 1.5 km, in Isala, there are signs for "Naturreservat". Turn left down the parking lot. From the parking lot, a gravel path leads to the nature reserve entrance (about 300 m). The path is smooth to walk on and is well suited for strollers.
