Anderåsberget, Naturreservat

In the highlands north of Orsa lies this beautiful ancient forest. Some of the trees are up to 400 years old! There is a great diversity of species here with several endangered species.

The forest on Anderåsberget has several hundred old pines (200-400 years old) scattered over almost the entire area, and many have yarn lichen on the trunks. On the eastern side, it is mostly old spruce forest with occasional willows. Many threatened species are linked to the old trees and dead wood, which are abundant in the area.
