Konstverk Strömmingsätaren

‘Strömmingsätaren’ (The
Herring Eater) stands outside the entrance to Forsgården in Forsheda. Artist
Erik Åkerlund makes sculptures, mostly in stone and bronze, using cats as a
recurring motif. He studied sculpture at Konstfack (University of Arts, Crafts
and Design) 1969-72 and the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm 1972-77. In
addition to his own work, he has worked as a teacher in bronze casting,
including at the Royal Institute of Art, and is a sculpture teacher at the Idun
Lovén Art School.
