Beskrivelse
In the Fylleån valley, nature is varied, with forests, pastures and wetlands in turn, and with the fantastic Fylleån river running straight through the reserve. There is a lot to do in the area, but good mobility is required as it is hilly and wet at times.
The geology is striking in the area. The Fylleån river flows in a clear valley created by the mighty rivers of the Ice Age. In some places, the bedrock has cracked and created mighty rock walls next to the river. In one of these, the water enters a narrow passage and forms the long Norteforsen. To the west, there are clear signs that the river has historically had a different course in the form of river bends in the pasture, known as basket lakes. In this part there are also clear fossilized shore terraces reminiscent of the mighty ice river that once existed at the site. In the center of the area there are also flat tongues of land created by fine-grained material from the river that has settled in the "inside" of the river bends.
Things to do in the area
There is a lot to see in the area, but good mobility is required as it is hilly and wet in places. Look at the view of Norteforsen, visit the remains of Mamsell Richardy's textile industry or walk the scenic path that goes east from Norteforsen's parking lot. If you don't want to go back the same way, you can walk back on Banvallsleden. If you want to fish, you need a fishing license, which is sold by Fylleåns Fiskevårdsförening.
Animals and plants
There are a large number of unusual species in the reserve, so far we know of 36 red-listed and 124 regionally interesting species in the area. In the river there are a large number of bugs where many species are unusual. For example, larvae of the red-listed moth Beraea maura and the red-listed dragonfly Brachyptera braueri live here. There is also a unique, original strain of salmon, the critically endangered sea scorpion lichen, which lives on boulders by the river. If you are lucky, you may see otters, which have returned to Fylleån and many other watercourses in the county in the 2000s. In the forests there are a number of unusual beetles that live on oak. Easier to spot are the many dragonflies that move in and around the wetlands on sunny summer days. As many as 32 species have been observed, which is almost half of all those found in Sweden.

Veibeskrivelse
There are several ways to get to the area. There are currently two parking lots, Brogård in the west and Norteforsen in the center.
Bicycle: There is no cycle path in the reserve, but the embankment path runs close by, so you can cycle here.
Bus: If you want to go to Norteforsen, you can take bus 145 or 318 from Halmstad to the Toftasjön bus stop.
Car: Drive east on road 25 from Halmstad. Turn south about 1.5 kilometers east of Skedala (road sign Norteforsen). At the end of the road is the parking lot and slightly west of this is a path down to Norteforsen itself. If you go back east along the gravel road, there is a path to the right that leads towards the mill deposit (about 1 km).
If you want to go to the parking lot in the west (former nature reserve Brogård), you must instead turn off from road 25/banvallsleden at Skedala, follow the road sign towards Mästocka. After crossing the river, turn right at the T-junction. After 600 meters it is signposted towards Brogård Nature Reserve. You can get here by bus 319, via bus stop Brogårdsvägen.
Forskrifter
To protect the nature reserve, the County Administrative Board has decided on special regulations, including those that you as a visitor to the area must follow and respect.
In addition to what applies under other legislation, it is forbidden to:
- damage living or dead trees, bushes and branches,
- damage, pick or collect mosses, lichens or fungi other than single specimens. The prohibition does not apply to the picking of edible mushrooms,
- drive a motorized vehicle other than on a road or park other than in a designated place,
- have a caravan or motorhome parked in the reserve at 22-06,
- have a dog unleashed,
- make a fire other than in a designated place,
- camping,
- climbing on rock walls and cliffs,
- cycling other than on roads,
- riding horses other than on roads
- having a boat moored or stored on the beach between 22:00 and 06:00
- traveling on the river in an organized manner, for example by canoe, paddleboard or raft, and
- put up a board, poster, sign, signpost or make an inscription,
- organize camps, competitions or other events without the permission of the County Administrative Board,
- use traps that kill invertebrates without the permission of the County Administrative Board
- planting species alien to the area without the permission of the County Administrative Board, and
- without the permission of the County Administrative Board, carry out surveys that involve marking, collecting, trapping or other impact on the natural environment.
