Beskrivelse
At Grinduga you can walk back in time. Meadows, fields and a lane are the remains of a medieval landscape. Nowadays it is also an inviting picnic landscape. The area is 23 hectares in size and is located just east of Grinduga village, about 9 kilometers east-southeast of Gävle.
Grinduga Nature Reserve consists of a well-preserved cultural landscape, some parts of which were already farmed in the Middle Ages. Many ancient structures have been preserved, such as hayfields, small patches of arable land, cairns, fencerows and grazed forest. It is easy for the visitor to get a picture of how the land was used in the past.
The reserve is home to a large number of vascular plants that depend on the area being kept open through grazing or haymaking. There is also a great wealth of different butterfly species in the area. Parts of the area are included in the Natura 2000 network.
Popular excursion destination
The reserve has two picnic areas and a nature trail. Parts of the area have been restored, and the maintained areas are managed annually through grazing and haymaking. The fact that the area is now a nature reserve means that it is protected from exploitation, and that the continued management is facilitated.

Grinduga naturreservat ligger 9 kilometer ost sydost om Gävle. Om du åker från Gävle så kör väg 76 söderut mot Furuvik och sväng av mot grinduga. Följ skyltarna mot området.
Forskrifter
Special rules apply in the nature reserve. It is not allowed to:
- drive motorized vehicles other than on roads intended for motorized traffic
- take firewood or make fires
- break branches, fell or otherwise damage living or dead standing or fallen trees and bushes
- damaging, picking or collecting plants, fungi and lichens
- climbing trees, staying near a bird of prey's nest, lair or burrow, collecting animals or otherwise harming or disturbing wildlife
- bringing an off-leash dog or other unleashed pet during times when there are grazing animals in the area
- put up a board, poster, poster, sign or make an inscription
- damage fixed objects or surfaces, such as moving or removing stones, digging, or similar
- use the area for organized competitions without the permission of the county administrative board
- use the area for military exercises.
Regulation 4 above does not prevent the picking for personal use of berries, edible fungi and plants that are not red-listed.
Regulations 1, 5 and 6 above do not prevent holders of special rights in connection with the hunting that is permitted in the nature reserve.
Regulation 7 does not constitute an obstacle to temporary signage in connection with licensed organized competitions under regulation 9.
