Ramsvikslandet, Naturreservat

After a tour of Ramsvikslandet you will understand why the area is called the Kingdom of the Rocks.

In the western part of the reserve you walk on vast rocky areas with beautiful pink tones. The bedrock here consists of red Bohus granite with elements of other rocks. There are many traces of the ice sheet. Here you can enjoy the salty breeze and the view of the sea to the west. Why not take the opportunity to take a dip or a foot bath?

In the west, you can see many of the traces of the ice sheet, such as elongated round boulders and potholes. The eastern side of the island is more lush, with forest and old pastures and farmland. Unusual species of both flowers and grasses also grow between the granite rocks. Partly on these lands, but also embedded in the granite landscape. Soteskogsmyren in the south is enchantingly beautiful in spring, when large numbers of cowslips bloom with their yellow flowers. Popular places for natural swimming are at Haby Bay and on Tryggö, but there are opportunities for a dip everywhere for those who like to swim.

In Ramsvikslandet there are several marked circular trails. One of these is Ramsvikslandet round, which is the longest of the Coastal Path's circular loops.
