Beskrivelse
One of the county's largest gölmosses, with about a hundred small puddles.
Visnum's Stormosse is located in Kristinehamn municipality. The bog is included in the mire protection plan and it is also included in the Natura 2000 network.
The area, which is about 350 hectares in size, consists of a concentric bog with an abundance of relatively small pools. Wide intermediate and poor lagoons surround the eastern and western parts of the bog. The bog is mostly surrounded by trivial woodland, but within the reserve there are pine-dominated bog islands, deciduous swamp forest and mixed swamp forest, some of which are classified as key biotopes.
Animals and plants
The bog has long been known for its rich bird life. Several less common and disturbance-sensitive species nest on the bog, e.g. cranes, ringed plovers, greenlegs and snipe, and there are old records of the presence of peregrine falcons and ospreys, but these birds have disappeared from the bog.

Forskrifter
In addition to other statutory provisions, it is prohibited in the reserve to
- felling or otherwise damaging living or dead trees or bushes, standing or fallen
- collect invertebrates, mosses, lichens and wood fungi
- digging or pulling up vascular plants
- driving vehicles
- bringing dogs that are not on a leash.
Without the permission of the County Administrative Board it is also forbidden to:
- carry out organized competitions or outdoor activities.
Exceptions:
- The prohibition on carrying dogs not on a lead does not apply to hunting with dogs.
