Beskrivelse
The reserve area is located at one of the highest points in Säffle municipality, with slopes in all directions. The area is between 190 and 307 meters above sea level.
The nature reserve consists of older coniferous forest with a high proportion of deciduous trees in places. The reserve also contains young forests with scattered old aspens, birches and pines left over from felling.
The natural values consist of the natural forest environment where some parts have been unaffected by man for a long time.
The reserve was established to preserve a natural forest with its flora and fauna, with elements of rare and endangered species, and to develop new mixed forest environments with a high proportion of deciduous trees.
Animals and plants
The availability of dead wood in various stages of decomposition is good in places, which benefits several threatened lichens, fungi, mosses, insects and birds. Threatened species that occur include the large aspen tick, candelabra fungus, lung lichen, asphodel beetle and three-toed woodpecker.

Veibeskrivelse
Location: Värmlands län, Säffle municipality, 10 km northwest of Långserud church. From Karlstad take road E18 towards Årjäng. In Långserud turn right towards Lönnskog. Drive just over 9 km more. Just before Elovsbyn, turn right. (There is a road barrier here that is open to reserve visitors from May 15 to September 15). After about 1.3 km turn right. After another 1 km you will arrive at the nature reserve Segolstorpshöjden's parking lot. Continue past, keep left and drive about 400 meters to the parking lot. Note that the last bit can be very bumpy after periods of rain and snow melt. Parking is available on the forest road's turning area. At the campground in Elovsbyn there is an overview map of the hiking trails in the area including the nature reserves Bjursjöhöjden, Segolstorpshöjden and Ulvfjället.
Forskrifter
In the reserve it is forbidden to:
- collect invertebrates, such as beetles and land snails
- picking mosses, lichens and wood fungi
- damaging or removing trees and shrubs, including dead wood such as lying or standing dry trees or dry branches
- driving vehicles
- damaging or removing natural objects or surface formation or damaging the ground cover
- use the area for commercial purposes in an organized manner, and for schools and institutions to use the area regularly to carry out scientific or other research.
