Ridge with older coniferous forest
The older coniferous forest in the area has been left untouched for a long time and has therefore developed natural forest characters, which has created good conditions for a diversity of species associated with older forest. In many places there are accumulations of standing and lying dead trees in varying degrees of decomposition, hardness and exposure to sunlight. There are few deciduous trees, with scattered occurrences of aspen, birch and alder.
The area has very high natural values, primarily linked to spruce environments, and for the region a remarkable number of species of wood fungi have been observed.

Forskrifter
In addition to other statutory provisions, it is prohibited in the reserve to
- felling or otherwise damaging living or dead trees or bushes, standing or fallen
- collect invertebrates, mosses, lichens and wood fungi,
- driving a motorized vehicle
- tipping or stockpiling
- digging or pulling up vascular plants
- damaging, moving or removing rock, earth or stone
- start a fire
- putting up a sign, notice, poster or similar device.
Without the permission of the County Administrative Board, it is also prohibited to:
- carry out organized competitive, educational or outdoor activities.
Exceptions
The ban on vehicle traffic does not apply on existing roads.
