Danvikshem

Designed by architect Aron Johansson and completed in 1915, the Danvikshem retirement and nursing home replaced the old Danviken Hospital, which dates back to the time of Gustav Vasa. The architecture is reminiscent in a national romantic way of the castles of the Vasa era, but also has elements of Art Nouveau. There is a church hall in the protruding part of the middle section.

When you arrive by sea, Danvikshem is one of the most striking buildings at the entrance to Stockholm. On a walk, you can take the opportunity to take a closer look at the exciting details of the building complex.
