The shelter in Gropen is not just a shelter, it is also a barbecue house with plenty of seating. A popular resting place that provides shelter for both everyday visitors and outdoor enthusiasts. The place is illuminated and is adjacent to the sledding hill, outdoor gym and the local cultural trail.

The shelter is part of the investments made in the area in recent years, when Vassmolösa community association and Kalmar municipality developed the site with, among other things, improved lighting, signage and more gathering areas.
